As college students, one welcomes Thanksgiving break as a much needed rest from tests, projects, presentations, and other stress. But does family time on Thanksgiving become a whole new stress on its own? Check out what college students in Texas are doing this Thanksgiving:
"I actually lied to my boyfriend's mom and said we were going to a wedding in Alabama in order to avoid another family Thanksgiving. I'm sick of turkey and family time.
Instead, I might go to Sonora, TX for my geomorphology project! Nothing like a small town where there's nothing to do on normal days, much less national holidays." - Julie, University of North Texas
"I have to go do the obligatory time-with-parents thing. If you're in college and live in the same city as your parents, Thanksgiving is one of those holidays when you're really expected to see your family." - Corey, University of Houston
"Any excuse is a great excuse for food and love, and in any social circle, about half the kids spend thanksgiving with their families, and the other half ..well, either dont have families, or have families that don't celebrate, or have families too far to celebrate with... which calls for a Thanksgiving poor-college-man's pot luck dinner... complete with lots of liquor and turkey sandwiches with hash browns!
And dont forget the post Thanksgiving Thanksgiving dinner. There's always Thanksgiving dinners happening even after the holiday. Oh - and don't forget Thanksgiving left over dinner." - Mariam, University of Houston
